Former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was questioned at the Anti-Corruption Agency of the SSS (State Security Service). This was announced by Emzar Gagnidze, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, at a briefing held at the SSS.

According to the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Irakli Garibashvili fully cooperated with the investigation and admitted to receiving illegal income over the years.

Furthermore, the SSS states that in the coming days, the investigation will deliberate on the qualification of Irakli Garibashvili's actions, as well as the selection of a preventive measure against him, based on existing and newly obtained evidence.

"As the public is aware, intensive, complex, operational, and investigative activities are underway in criminal cases, in connection with which various actions, including searches of the residential apartments of former high-ranking political officials and persons associated with them, were conducted in the preceding days.

As you know, a few minutes ago, a briefing was held at the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia regarding one of the criminal cases and one of the persons detained as a result of these complex measures.

Additionally, we inform the public that today, former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was questioned at the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service. He fully cooperated with the investigation and admitted to the fact of receiving illegal income over the years. Accordingly, in the coming days, based on existing and additionally obtained evidence, the investigation will deliberate on the qualification of his actions, as well as the selection of a preventive measure against him, about which the public will also be informed," stated Emzar Gagnidze, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia.
